Guys,,,Happy Texas Independence Day!!!
This is probably more closed circuit For Us Texans. or Wanna be's. In 1836, a rag-tag band of Texicans about 187 men held off over 5000 Mexican Regular Troops for 13 days. Every man was put to the Sword! No quarter was given.
After that time the phrase "Remember The Alamo" Had echoed through History in many forms.
Go Vote! Guys, exercise Our Independence!!
Later,
John A.

Today would be a good day for Governor Perry to show the world he has a pair, and follow thru on his statement that Texas needs to secede from the intrusive and corrupt federal government.

Unfortunately, that will not happen because Governor Perry has contacted presidential aspirations.

There are two locations I know of south of Petersburg on RT 1 going south in Dinwidde County. While not true junk yards they usually have a good number of old tractors and implements. I picked up some stuff from both in the past. One will be on your left and a mile or so south the other will be on your right.

Good thing The Alamo didn't have a back door.Y'all'd be pressing 1 for english

Just kidding... Don't forget the boys from Tennessee that helped out there.

Enjoy your day.

Sometimes we forget that the only native Texicans at the Alamo were the Tejanos. Most of the Anglos had only recently come to Texas, except for Jim Bowie and a handful of others. I'm only giving credit where credit is due. They all made a brave stand up to the very end. The Alamo fell on March 6th. Sam Houston was supposedly at the constitutional convention on March 2nd. He had virtually no army at the time. The men at the Alamo were expecting reinforcements from Fannin at Goliad, but he was unable or unwilling to send his force to aid the Alamo. By the time that they found out that no help was forthcoming, they were completely surrounded. I seriously doubt that they intentionally got themselves cutoff and trapped.

I was at Waco. Koresh got a lot of people killed. He was more concerned about his car getting towed. Than about the people he had trapped.

I don't think he does either, but it don't matter, in another ten or twenty years, the Hispanic population will outnumber the majoirity here in this country, and they will also have the vote.

How do you "outnumber the majority"?? That's impossible, unless you meant to say "outnumber the CURRENT majority." Once a group's numbers become greater, they BECOME the majority.

Would that include a great portion og New Mexico and Colorado that was also won? These were part of Texas.

As a native Texan. I always found it funny. That everyone in Texas claims to have an relative that fought at the Alamo. If that were true it would have been a very crowded place. Santa Anna would not have had a chance. There were quite a few Mexicans fighting with the Alamo group. And the battle was not about Texas independance. It was to restore the laws that Santa Anna revoked. Also one of his generals made the statement. That they could not afford another victory like that.

Always exercise my voting right as a native Texan in all Texas elections.

Y'all take a look at the name and place of origin of The Defenders of the Alamo.

Counted 9 Mexicans, 6 from San Antonio, from what is now considered Texas.

Here is a timeline for the Texas Revolution.

Could be true..................... You Texans picked up your dates at family reunions didn't you??????????

"you can tell by the look of that guy's forehead, that his Mom and Daddy were cousins........"

Just kidding

Were YOU one of the murdering b@stards who got their jollies off cremating innocent men, women and children?

The feds brought this upon themselves and MUST be made to pay in perpetuality for this.

They did it, were rewarded for it, and are just chafing at the bit in hopes of doing it again.

Oh, I most certainly do. WE do NOT, repeat, NOT want, or need the useless federal government telling us what to do.

The Republic of Texas is perfectly capable of surviving on its own, negotiating treaties that would benefit us thus allowing us to prosper without the meddling of the federal government that sticks its oar into everything and anything that catches its fancy.

The first step would to send each and every yanqui foreigner packing, thus ridding the state of their unwanted influence, and their lieberal lifestyle.

YEEE HAWWWW!!!

Happy Independence Day! I hope to visit San Antonio again sometime in the next year or so, what an awesome city!

Not to mention widening the gene pool and causing folks to date outside the family...................

Unfortunately that has been tried before and led to the War Between the States.

if you got rid of all the northerners and their $$$, you guys would be a colony of Mexico in a year or two...

In the history I studied while in Texas I was told the official name was the "War Between the States". Calling it that here in Minnesota, most people probably wouldn't know what you were talking about. Here it is referred to as "The Civil War".

Yeah, when I was in school it was always called "The War Between The States" or "The Civil War".
I don't think anyone even uses the term "War Of Northern Aggression", anymore. The only time I even hear it is usually associated with humor.

But certainly, it was a very dark time in history. Families were divided and many innocent people lost their lives.

I can claim a Brother fought at the Alamo, as well as Gonzales. I can also claim a Brother was at Washington on the Brazos to sign the Declaration, as well as having them there today. But then again, I am one of MANY Freemasons in Texas and else where around the World.

Buzzman,

At the current rate of population growth, the Hispanic people will outnumber, all the rest of us (here in this country) who are not Hispanic, and it is estimated that this will happen by 2020...

Think about it.. when you telephone a company first thing you have to do is "press one for English"

Will

did he say "needs to" which is an opinion. you don't need two to say that.Be careful they don't invoke NAFTA and give you back.looks like you were stolen in the first instance.

OK, let me make it perfectly clear that I'm not disputing your math, NOR am I disputing the statistics about the rising Hispanic population.

I'm talking about the term "majority." If the "majority" today is "us," and you refer to Hispanics as "them," once the number of "them" passes the number of "us," then "us" is no longer the "majority." The "majority" then becomes "them." So there can NEVER be more of "them" than the "majority," because once the number of "them" passes the number of "us," the title of "majority," by definition, passes from "us" to "them."

So the number of "them" can NEVER be MORE than the "majority."

If you want to blame someone. Blame Clinton,Reno and Koresh. Because if they had let the local Sheriff handle it. The whole thing would have been over in a day with no one getting hurt.

Hey Dave. Saves on gas having a large selection in one spot. Be careful what you sat or I will send some of this snow and rain your way. Ground is so soaked you sink just walking on it. They say we have more on the way.
