Tractor umbrella's

Hello again fella's...Found this old JD umbrella years ago in the corner of the barn. My great grandpa owned a JD for 2 weeks and sent it back and went to AC tractors from then on. Grandma wasn't sure what model he had so i was wondering..what's a rought estimate of the year of this thing? I'm kinda a collector of these things when i find them which is far and few between. Thank ya guys

There was 2 types 4 point and six point. six was generally pre WWII and four was after. The big difference was in the pole and mount for the different tractors.

Well Pa had one on his 43 model "A". He bought the tractor in 46 and I presume got the umbrella right away. I seem to remember it looked just like that one. So does mid 40s sound about like the right time frame that your granddad could have had the JD?

Not up on JD but the style of the logo may narrow it down if you ask over on the JD board.

hey thanks guys that was a huge help! Sounds about the right time he had it. 4 post umbrella right after ww2 he bought the tractor for my grandpa to come home to. sold it 2 weeks later on a AC wc i believe because the dealer was closer/cheaper. I sure do appreciate all your guys knowledge

Never saw the 4 point (Arm) type untill in the 70's. All before that were 6 point.
