...north & east of ya but anyway, I`ve been reading `bout yer varmint problem. I`ve had myself too, But I`ll be D@mned, tonite was a good nite, Pepe le Pewwww...lol is horizontal....& he ain`t nap`n!!!
I`d go with a 410....single shot Winchester youth model w/the barrel cut back....just a bit ta widen that pattern...lol. Just thought I`d holler & say Hey I hope you get a kill....moons perty full out there!
 
Wish I could find a cheap 410 but they are like finding hens teeth in my part of the woods but so are double barrel 12 gauge shot guns like the one I have. The 12 gauge I have is a full on one side and modified on the other side. I have rolled a good many turkeys with it and so far knock on wood none have ever walked away form it but I don't turkey hunt any more got way to easy for me. LOL. I also have my sons 20 gauge but for what I need to much for as close as my shots are
 
I`ve gotta tell on myself, I had made a trade a acouple years back, & I`ve got a 10 ga. IF needed...but I`ve not shot but a couple times...last time I did though, I wanted that Pepe dead!!!...but I was TOO tight on hold`n her....I`m right handed in all but shooting, anyway, had her tight & pulled the trigger, MT left check & shoulder was sore fer a couple three days...LMAO....I only break out the 10 when really needed....I Wish we were a bit closer, my collie dog I`ve found out is 1 coon killer!!!

Back when I mean and made my dogs live out side I never had a coon opossum beaver or wood chuck that gave me a problem but I got soft and my dogs live to good life now and stay in doors most of the time. My oldest dog was an out door dog till his daddy died and then he came in. His daddy was good at taking care of things but he got old and passed a few years ago. Now if I did let my dogs out and they saw a coon then that poor coon would most likely meet his match and then some since the type of dog I have is known to be real killers. but mine are sweet lick a person to death dogs
