1020 john deere rear rims and tires

i recently purchased a 1020 jd its the row crop with the high profile built in mannheim according to data plate (written in german) it has 12.4-36 rear tires is this the size that it would have came from the factory with? i need to go to a wider tire but 36 size is very limited can u change to a 38 to possible go to a 14 or 15 -38 i need the flotation due to the areas i mow are wet other then mid summer any help greatly appreciated

I would say if you can locate a set of rims I would go for it. The other option I would suggest would be to look into a set of duals.

Deere has many rim configurations for 1020s.
Some have no centers and must have center-disks bolted to the flange axle. Others DO have centers and bolt direct.

AT20521 is for 16.9 X 24"
JD3035 for 14.9 X 24"

There are also several for 14.9 X 28"

JD also offered L31666 WHEEL CENTER (A) 14.9/13-30,16.9/14-30 for a 1020
