sad day for an oliver

heres an oliver that was at the auction today. rumor was it was damaged unloading at the auction. dont know for sure. busted the lft axle trumpet clean off and the tractor layed over on its side. this was a real nice tractor too, so sad to see this ol girl this way. not sure if it sold or not.

That is very sad. I hope they can find another trumpet for it. Looks like quite a nice auction. I haven't been to one since November, and I'm getting auction withdrawal.

Sad very sad ones like that you do not see every day any more. As is if the engine would still run is worth $1000 at least. So what is the old girl?? an early 70 or 80 or maybe a 99., Sorry ones that old I do not do well on
 
Cold castings, steel wheels and frozen ground are a real bad combination.
That'll buff out though.
 
Looks like an 18-27. It still has Hart-Parr cast onto the rad. The standard version was the 18-28 which became the 80 in 1937.
 
D@mn'er,that was a nice looking 80. Not gonna be real easy to find parts to put that Humpty Dumpty back together again.
Looks like some of the damage that they used to do at Archbold now and then.
