Ford injector pump parts

I need a source for parts for a rotary injector pump on a Ford 3000; mainly gaskets. Does anyone have a source?

Ebay? Find another shop? Just send it to a shop anyway and get it done. There is a reason why they don't want to sell you parts...

I'm not going to put a $900 pump on a $1500 tractor. This had the shutoff stuck and we fixed that. The gasket is brittle and we can't make one better.I grew up fixing things and can't buy into the replacement mentality.I hate being reamed for services. If the pump needed rebuilding i'd pay,but this is a minor repair.

This place sell parts to anybody and ships fast. They'll also let you download their parts catalog if you want.

I assume you've got a CAV pump?

Yeah, and I doubt that reason is altruism. The fewer people fix things themselves, the more important their work becomes and the more the shops can charge. Most patched up pumps have less then $50 in parts stuck into them and the repair bill is often over $700. Great deal for the shop and not so great for the tractor owner.

I can see someone with no mechanical interest or expertise blindly sending such things out. But, this is a forum where some people can fix a few things, correct?

No, it's certainly not altruism...
They've pretty well got it set now that parts are mostly only distributed through ADS authorized dealers. OEM's don't for the most part sell pump parts that I'm aware of...
So with the market cornered they pretty much charge what they please for their services. If you find one that wants to sell you parts... great. I'd hazard to guess that there's a lot that won't given the margin they're giving away in doing so.

There are more aftermarket parts available now, for mechanical injection pumps, then ever before. 30 years ago I had to buy OEM only. Now it's much different. Spaco in Italy is one big company that makes aftermarket for Stanadyne/Roosamaster, Bosch, CAV, Caterpillar, Simms, Zexel, Nippodenso, etc. Also many other companies popping up from China and India.

I'm buying parts now for 1/2 of what I was paying 30 years ago, which is pretty amazing considering inflation over the years.

just finished the pump on my friends 3600 bought a repair kit from the dealer with all the o-rings and gasket for $50.00 + or - a couple of bucks. it was leaking around both shafts and cover didn't even take it off the tractor. less than a hour and i'm old and slow.
