Snapping Turtle Mower

My father in law was a collector of stuff. If it was free he collected it. He also repaired lawn mowers. Sometime during his collecting he aquired a Snapping Turtle Mower. It ran when put in the shed. My mother in law is getting rid of some of his stuff and I would like to have some idea what it may be worth. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

There were different models of them made, anyway to post more information. An aquaintance has 2 of them but he is down south for the winter.

Thanks Leroy. I will have to get it dug out of the shed, maybe take a picture or 2. A guy I work with uses 1 to do his lawn mowing. He inquired about the 1 my MIL has. Kinda like to have an idea what to ask for it.

I've got three of them and never paid more then $100 for any of them. One I got free from a scrap-pile. They turn up at auction, now and then. I've met a few people that collect them. From what I've heard from collectors, they pay more for a complete mower, and many are not.
There is a toothed grill-guard in front that is often missing and lowers the value. And, of someone stole the turtle-head, it's worth next to nothing. If I was at auction, and one came up that was all original, with all original parts (including engine), I might go up to $150, but I'm cheap.

Like anything, you machine is worth whatever somebody will pay at the time - so you never know.

I've oot some original manuals for that mower series if you ever need info.
