Not a good sign

Just stepped out side and saw a flock of geese flying low and heading south so maybe they think winter will be lasting a bit longer. They where low enough that if I have my 12 gauge in hand and hand the 00 buck loaded in it I probably could have dropped one or 2 of them but I guess the law dogs might not have liked that

I saw them to . I shoot three of em with my 22 and bird shot . Gona make goose jerky out of em !!

Ya but if you shot a few, wouldent you be contributing to makeing the airways safer for the jets? lol, a true American..

Not sure but I can say they went hook hook LOL. I did not have binoculars with me so I could not see them all that well but they did look to be gray and white

They was close enough to shoot with a shotgun but to far away to know what you were shooting at !?!?!

You know a goose is pretty much a goose and the breed doesn't matter. So think about it if I did shoot I would know what I was shooting at just not the breed of the goose. Boy are things getting bad this winter even the geese are getting mixed up and going bad or wrong

I dont know were you are located, but were gonna have a messy week here in NY. Some system up in the Canadian meriatimes (Ya I know spelling?) is gonna comeback down here again. So the geese are high tailing it back down south. ;) RodinNS must be sending it back down to me, Only just nastier!!

I'm in Missouri. Odd thing was how low these geese where flying. In the past week or so I have seen a good many flock going north but they where way up there but these where down low enough to have been able to shoot them which for this area is odd in deed

Out here in west cental tx theres been sandhill cranes in feilds 1/4 mile west and north most days. They fly low and make noise like geese and fly in same formation. Havent quite figuerd out where they roost at yet. They show up 730-800 in morning and feed all day in feild. About 500 in eveing they leave and fly of to south east. Only water that direction is a creek.

Question:
When geese are flying in a V formation, why is one line always longer than the other?

Answer:
Because there"s more geese in that line.

Ya last week I saw them going north now today going south so guess even the birds are all messed up this year and it isn't just the weather

Just for your information, those sandhill cranes summer up here in central Wisconsin. They were quite rare 40 years ago but now are so numerous that people hardly pay attention to them. I find them quite humerous to watch. They'll gorge themselves with corn in the fall and then look like a fully loaded B17 trying to get off the ground. Many farmers complain that they pull the small corn plants up just to get the seed kernals. I haven't had that problem. They hatch their young here, usually no more than two, and are fun to watch. They're very family oriented and the young stay with the parents right thru until they leave in the late fall all dressed up in their new gray plumage.
