Well he owns a pawn shop and said he had an older guy come in and said hey I have a bunch of older Farmall and Allis tractors out in the field you need to come and buy them. So I guess some time next week I and he will go look. Sounds like my spring time get them up and running may have just gotten off to an early start. Oh well that is what happens when you have a partner that has the $$ to back up the buying and me the know how to make them run again

There were several John Deere tractors, As, Bs, and one unstyled D in a storage lot near the high school a few years ago. They were beside the road, then were moved to the back. I've always wondered what the owner planned to do with them. If I were younger, had the money & room (wouldn't we all), I would seriously consider the old D.

That sounds like it could be a fun project for sure. Let us know what you find, and what you'll be able to do with it. I'm always amazed at how you can get tractors back to work without breaking the bank.

I found out a little more about the JD tractors in the storage lot. I mentioned something about it in my last period class to one of the kids. He didn't know anything but a kid across the isle spoke up. He knew about it and if I had noticed the building that the tractors were sitting behind. He said it was almost full of restored tractors; that the guy was collecting them. My curiosity has been aroused and I may follow up on this at a later date. C.L.

It is just a matter of looking them over real good. Most do not need much more then a simple tune up and maybe a carb rebuild and some new wires all of which I can pretty much do in my sleep any more. Shoot I have 2 or 3 of them that I still run that all I ever did was maybe clean up the points and maybe change the oil
