Mare due any minute (translates to any time between now and 5 or 6 days). Camera installed so we just have to hit the auxiliary button on the remote to check in, cleaning the stall every couple hours, and not sleeping worth a dam. All that and will prolly still miss the moment.. Not that she can't do it by herself, we just are die hard followers of the Imprint Training process. The sooner you start, the easier life is.

Pics when it arrives.

Hey Dave we've used a product called (I think) Breeder Alert. It's a small transmitter in a leather pouch that velcros to side of mares halter. If the mare lies flat on her side for more than approx. 10 seconds, a receiver/transmitter in the barn signals a pager style device in your bedroom. Once your heart resumes normal rhythm, turn on your TV and watch to see if mare start to work or gets up and stares into space for a while. It's very accurate with most mares we watched more than half of our mares foal. Good Luck

(quoted from post at 10:24:23 02/19/10) How did you get the camera so you can watch it inside your house?? Run a cable??
Wireless... Works up to 150 meters. As for the birth monitor, with my luck it would be shot 20 minutes after I put it on her.

Good luck Dave!!!! No babies this year for us unless 2 goats count.... I've got a sow due in mid april. Other than that nothing but baby chickens here and there...
Wife and i r going to a PRCA rodeo tomorrow night at the AG Center in Perry Ga., its only 5 minutes from the farm, so i guess we should go once in a while.
Kind of like watching them pretty horses and fast cowgirls!!!!
Good Luck!!!!!!!!
