I bought TSC tire chains and been trying to post pics so Dave could compare them to tirechain.com's chains. Let you decide if I got hosed by TSC. They work really well. Before if I dropped the grader blade, I went no where.

Love that little tractor.... Closest thing to it over here is blue. Thought about shipping one over but figure it would be a PITA to get parts etc.
What did the chains cost?

Dave

$410 for the set..7% sales tax included. I looked at tirechain.com chains first and online they looked like they had smaller links..I may have paid too much, but couldn't wait.

I don't feel so bad now......... Thought I paid a bunch of money for mine but guess I was OK. Main thing is, I (and you) can go where I want, when I want, without having to bother a neighbor to help with a 4wd tractor.

Golden Jubilee? I couldn't quite read the emblem; doesn't look quite the same as I remember it.

Sure is a nice looking little Ford tractor.

Thanks for sharing your photo with us.

Being from Texas don"t know much about snow chains.

Just got the new emblem from Yesterday's tractor. It is just like the original, however all the paint was gone from the original. Need to put the decals on the tractor. Do that in the spring.

The paint I used was Rural King special $26/gal + $12 hardner + $6 thinner. Easiest and nicest paint I ever used. Painted my IH C first and was impressed with the results.

They look like like Duo-grips but seem to have more shine to them. You don't have to have all the rubber bungee straps on them. I put bungee straps on my chains when I first got them and it caused the cross chains to get pulled in between the lugs. I took the bungee straps off the chains and the cross chains wouldn't get stuck in between the lugs. Looking at your pictures, you will see what I'm talking about. In the top picture, 1 cross chain is in the lugs and in the bottom picture, both cross chains are pulled between the lugs together, which defeats the purpose of having chains. Tractor chains do not have to be real tight like truck chains. They also self clean a lot better when they're looser because they fall off the tire a little bit when they come off the ground. I have the same style of chains on my MF135 and they work way better without the rubber straps. You could experiment and see what works better for you. Dave

The plated stuff has never struck me as being the best chain out there in terms of life, but I doubt that will ever matter for the use you put on them. For the price you paid it's hard to argue.
Duo-Tracs should work well for you.

Likewise, I don't think you need all the bungee's on there except mabey one to take the slack out at the joint... New chains like that, well fitted should stay on quite well. The only problem I ever had with them was the half hooks on the loose cross chains would come loose. I used to wire them in place and not use any bungee cords.

I put the bungies on for my back yard winter olympics. Pulled the grandkids on a sled with the tractor in 4th gear. Tirechain.com said they were needed. Thanks for the advice..I'll remove them for slow speed snow plowing.
