Hey Rich:
Haven't heard you jumpin up and down about McMurray from Misery winning Daytona yet!
You help your neighbor?
JR was pushing him to the finish line and the CAT car wasn't too far behind.
(PS: Wife had the computer last night)

I do not watch any type of sports so didn't even know who won what. Be it foot ball base ball basket ball or racing I do not watch it or even know who plays what

Most times I remain out of the loop as well. We just use the TV for a few Movies on DVD. No cable No antenna, No wasted time. (including the time I spend on here) Jim

I have a TV and direct TV but watch mostly sfi=fy stuff and news which I'll do in about 30 minutes. Other wise it is just noise in the back ground but silents hurts my ears but I have that teninis or what ever it is call ringing in the ears is easier way to put it

I'm with old...

I don't watch any sports either... well sometimes I do watch pro golf with the volume on "mute" as it is quite amusing to watch them hot dog professional golf players miss a short put then to watch them control their temper!

Also I do like to watch the Williams sisters play tennis with the volume on "mute" as well

I suppose I relate the tennis show to Billy Schafer saying how he sees this woman run her dog by his shop every day, but he is waiting for summer so he can see her again in her summer runni'n clothes, but he's not sure what kind of dog she has...

And if you missed that one, it was under the heading of "Stray dogs n cats in the country" > under Tractor Talk.

Well for me I figured I played enough foot ball and base ball in School I do not need to watch it since I have already BTDT sort of thing. Played center on a team in foot ball and tackled a good many big guys even busted up one guys knee real bad because of the way I had to take him down but he did go down and then to the hospital.
I figure all that money that goes into that stuff could be better spent

I know a guy who is currently driving his motorhome back from Daytona to MA. His boss says the race fan got a space in the infield for $3000. He also says the track can't be seen from the infield. Everybody has to run their generators and watch the race on their TVs. All the exhausts have to clear the top of the motorhome and point vertical. It's either that or spend another $300 for a grandstand seat.

I can't imagine going to all that expense and trouble. The weather down there was cold all week. And, y'know there isn't any room service on the infield.

But all-in-all, the experience is probably better than the upcoming Bike Week or Spring Break. It's a good thing they don't have a Tractor Week.

I"m with OLD and don"t watch any sports. NASCAR has become too sissy. My son had the Daytona on the TV the other day and they had to stop the race for a about 6 hours to patch a "hole" in the track because the cars needed to run on a perfect track. Well, back in the good ol days of real stock car racing, there were no perfect tracks. The race cars drove over holes, ruts, cracks, you name it. Most of the tracks were still dirt, and drivers could barely see through their windshields because of all the dust. The drivers were rough-faced men with grease under their nails who knew how to tear an engine apart and put it back together again. Now all the drivers (except for Martin) look like pampered, baby-face kids who don"t ever have to turn a wrench. The cars themselves look like a bunch of little Honda Accords, which is a joke. Today is a far cry from the days of the big Fords with the 427 side-oilers, the max wedges, Hemi"s, DeSotos, Studes, Lincolns, etc.

Never watch football either, ever since the players started displaying long hair and dreadlocks flowing out beneath their helmets. It looks hideous, feminine. For 100+ years in football, men would get a haircut if they wanted to wear a helmet. What in the world has happened? What has happened to the decency in football?

Will. Never understood golf myself. Hit a little white ball into the sky. Then they pan the sky for a white ball with white clouds in the background. No longer care for Nascar it has gotten boring. All the cars look the same. Liked it better when you could tell what the cars were and drivers would get into fights. Drivers back then didn't complain like they do today. Well time to get outside and watch the dog runner.

Welllll my wife and I used to go to the Daytona 500 every year but since hotel rooms got to over $1500 for three days and tickets well over $500 for the two big races we said it's not for us. TV works for us and we can go to a lot of other places for a lot less including Bristol.
