Does'nt it just make you guys chuckle when someone list an item for sale and they're not quite sure what it is or what it fits but they sure do know what its worth! lol

yep!

How about the ones who list something for sale, but no price?

I have seen some tractors priced way too high! but of course that's only my opinion

----and that they have not done their research so call it very rare in order to justify the price even if 10 to 15 of the same item is for sale elsewhere.

Yup, you need it, you've got to have it, and I've got the only one available so I'm going to stick you good for it.

You've made a very good point.

It’s gotten pretty pathetic. They’re really dragging out the junk. I believe very few of them get responses except from scammers.

It plays both ways to a point. Many buyers seem to think because they bought an item 40 years ago for $20 that it's worth $10 now. Many things do go up in value. Then there's the potential buyer who wants the 40 year old item at 1/3rd its value, delivered free, and in better shape than it was new.

Buying or selling, you gotta jump through a lot of hoops to get what you want sometimes.

Personally, I think it's fun!

I realize that folks need to make a profit if they make their living buying and selling, but the most interesting thing is how little an item is worth when they are trying to buy it, but that same exact item grows high in value when they try to sell it.
It is the game that car dealers have played for years. That is why there is seldom any truth in someone being an honest dealer, they are forced to lie just to buy cheap and sell high.

I advertised for a steering part for a tractor on here a while back.A parts guy replied that he had one like new,but wouldn't price it.He kept saying,"make me an offer, you know what you can afford to spend"I made him an offer and he told me to go somewhere else.

Just looked at JD sockets on ebay and viewed what else the seller listed. Listed a Morgan silver dollar. I pull up the pic for a closer view was a rather crispt 1881 coin. Read the story and was selling an 1898 morgan silver dollar not the nice 1881 coin. Read the fine print?

Just hate that when I sell it and buy it all in the same deal. In that case I aim real low.

And some buyers have no idea what they are buying, I came across a WWII bayonet with the scabbard, EBay said it was worth $10.00(But it now), local consignment sale it brought $75.00!
