1965 430 Case

I have a 1965 430 Case and was wondering if I could put power steering on it. Did they come out stock with power steering? Or would I have to put an aftermarket on it. Also could someone tell me a where could I get a good book on operation and parts manual and repair.(wiring diagram)etc. The serial number is 8261548.Model number is 441. Gas engine.I'm guessing this old girl is a little rare.

You'd probably be better off in the Case link area. I'm guessing that it would be a real challenge. The reason is that we bought one new about then with no power steering. They steered alright, but in order to make it easier, they had what seemed like 13 turns lock to lock. We were soon worn out! We traded it back in very soon for one with power steering. This model had the normal 2 1/2 turns each way. It was a great tractor. Good luck and enjoy.

Not rare at all. There are plenty of them around. Many of them came out with power steering. Later models had hydrostatic power steering which was a really good system. If I were you I would not bother with trying to add power steering. If you tighten up everything in the steering system (joints in shaft, arms, linkages, etc.,) you will not really need power steering. Those things drove real easy, even without power steering. A great little tractor, especially the diesel models. They were fuel misers. The gassers can drink up some fuel.
