3pt hitch for a skidsteer?

Hi, I'm planning to make a 3pt hitch attachment for my Bobcat A300. I'd like to put a hydraulic motor on it to act as a pto and drive my bushhog mower. I was thinking it would be smart to set it up just like the back of my tractor, so I can use and/or move any of my other implements.

Have any of you done this?

What kind of hydraulic motor should I use? Any other considerations?

Thanks,

Hoover repair in Curtiss Wi makes them. He will tell you what you need if you ask him.

You can buy 3 pt. adaptors for skid steers but a hyd. PTO will not have as much power as a tractor PTO for the same HP. They make Hyd. mowers for skid steers as well but they work best with high flow hydraulics. Another big concern is the heat the hyd's. will generate if you're using an hyd. PTO for a long periods and under a lot of load. I demo'd a rototiller for a skid steer. A tiller on a tractor is way better. Dave

You may not want the expense, but they make a rotary brushcutter that fits on the front of a skidsteer. We have used them at work with some success.

You will need to know the psi, and flow rate for your loader (GPM). Then go to surpluscenter.com, they have several motors that have the pto shaft hook up on them.
