Seems to be more auctions this winter.

The last few years farm equipment auctions have been few and far between. Seems like it was mostly just consignment sales. Was just looking through the calender and there are 22 sales around here in the next two months. Estate, retirement, and consignment sales. There is even 3 consignment sales by three auctioneers next town up from me over the next 5 weeks.

Any one else seen an upswing of auction numbers this winter?

Can I be nosy about the listings? From what I've seen here locally sales are few and far between. There are a few things Im looking for and estate and close out sales are where I most like to go. Seems most consignment sales are over priced or someone is selling the things they cant figure out how to fix.

Around here in NW Ohio there hasn't been much of nothing in the way of auctions. Hopefully it picks up some soon.

I know you are east of me a good ways and they are south of you I think but Mill's out of Scottsvile is having several sales come'n up and they have a good web site. It would be a road trip for you but James R Cash has several close out sales as well. His first of two consignment sales is mostly good stuff. Alot of dealers use it to clean up their lots and small estates bring all their stuff cause commision is so much cheaper. The second one is mostly things that people bought at the first one, took home and could not fix. (No joke, many of them still have the old paint stick numbers one them) Worst part of his consignment sales for you would be there is no way to know what is going to be there. A buddy of mine was looking for a 28' cultipacker a few years ago and called to ask if they had taken any in, and the guy he talked to said sure I'm look'n at 3 of'm now. I rode down there with him and there was not a packer there over 12'. He left mad and I had to find my own way home. (about 90 miles)

I am also on the point of IL. Don't go there much for sales unless there is something I am really after. (And then most of the time only if I can haul it home on Sunday, drive my car to the sale) But it seems there are few big sales come'n up over there.

Email is open if there is any thing specific you are look'n for I will be on the look out down this way for you.

I'm a farm auction junkie, up here in southen MN there hasn't been _nothing_ for auctions in 18 months. Had to go 95 miles this fall to get to one, there were 3 junky ones in a 30 mile circle, and that's it. Few consignment ones but it's all cleanning out the grove junk, not a good piece on them.

I'm going through withdrawl.

Got the regional farm paper today, if you have an auction it's in there. Nothing - stuff in the Dakota's and one or 2 in Iowa, but nothing within 100 miles.

I hear ya about be'n a junky. I will go to one every Saturday I can get away with durring the winter. There has been several realy good ones right close to the house with in 20 miles this winter and a few good ones I have had to drive 50 or so miles for. If you want to see a good consignment sale there will be one down here in March if you feel like a road trip. They will have 2 to 3 rings going from 9 am till after dark. There is usually mostly good stuff at the March one, several dealers clean their lots off, several close out/estate sales take stuff there to save on commisions. Like I said it's a road trip and a half but this guy is the best by far around here.

It has been fairly even over the last several years. Rumor is that there will be quite a number of small dairy auctions this year as some guys have had it or have no choice. Looks to be a few sizable cash crop operations selling out too. The quality looks like it will be a tad better compared to other recent years. I have heard with commodity prices heading back down we will see more small cash crop guys go out around here. I'm doing everything I can to keep my own head above water, anymore.

Not here in Michigan. At least not that have been booked and listed. I check the auctioneers websites now and again, just not many farm auctions. Of course, not many farms left either,so there could be a connection.

Can't say it's been overly active around western Missouri. There's been a greater number of business liquidations, but farms and household/estate auctions are average.

There have been very few farm auctions in SW MN this past year, and I have seen nothing for this spring. The only thing happening with auctions is these large machinery consignment type sales.

About 25 or 30 miles from Old Shawneetown, and just off KY56, that turns to IL13 at the bridge.

I'm in Ohio more north central and I see alot of auctions advertised, same as always ? I think you could go to one or more every weekend. Some big equipment and many not. The few I went too there was no shortage of buyers or money as things were selling way better then you could sell for on your own.

Sounds good if I can make it. I have to work both Saturday nights of the Mayfield sales this year. I work 12 hours every Friday or Saturday the way my schedule goes, work'n then an all day auction ain't too bad. ALL day auction then a 12 hour shift ain't as much fun seems like cause I will have to work again Sunday. Work then auction lets me sleep most of Sunday and I'm good. Get'n old and night shift is cutting into my auction habit.

Thanks for the heads up. I actually have need to go to Scottsville and Brownsville in the next few weeks. My dad had some property and some o/g leases down there. I've got to figure out what to do with them. Right now I'm really looking for a good hoelsher accumulator and grapple or a good NH bale wagon. I've sold everything I had and ended up short on hay handling equipment. Also, I wouldnt mind picking up a 100-110 hp tractor if the price is right, maybe a 2090 or 1070 Case.
