Hey guys truck is getting about 14mpg, I unhooked edge box yesterday. Now I stated truck this morning (about 18*) and the abs and brake light is on and message center says service brake system. What might be wrong? I ran truck after unkooking edge box and it was not that way, it just came on after sitting over night, brake fluid looks good, brakes work.

Check all fuses. Normally when both lights are on and the parking brake is not on, the lights indicate that ABS module has lost power. What year is your truck and I will look up the wiring diargram for your abs unit.

Thanks fells's. I started moving in truck about 20mph and they went out and never came back on. One more question about truck. I noticed a couple of times when I would go to pass in it and put er to the floor, it would stay in 4th gear and either lock up torque converter or stay in 4th and govern out and not shift. Today it did this to me in 2nd or 3rd gear, I let off of it and get back into it and it shifts ok, any ideas?

Dieselplace.com is dedicated to the Duramax primarily and there are lots of good folks over there with helpful information if you don't find your answer here.

I have an 06 Duramax that gets 22 mpg empty with 4 passengers. I've kept it bone stock and see no need to invest in a tuner because it gets good mileage and has all the power I need.

I know this is a dumb question, but did you accidently hit the parking brake on the floor? I Have a 2004 duramax and if you barley touch the floor parking brake it shows a light on the dash and is dings.

I have seen the service brake system on my truck last winter when it gelled up idling on me some time during the day at work. Key was on likely for hours. I had to leave her there for a couple days to warm up enough to get her going. Then when it first started, that warning came up on the monitor. Never came back. I asked a buddy that works on them and he said it was likely due to the low battery voltage. The brake booster runs on electrical power since the diesel has no vacuum.
