carrier to get it to Spokane ,Washington. Will the John Deere LUC,LA or L engine interchangable with the combine engine? And vice versa thinking of buying one out of state. Also looking for a inexpensive way to get it here.Or does anyone know how much a guy would have into engine parts to rebuild mine? The one that came of the combine is stuck and has a lot of water damage. Thanks Blaine

I don't know or really cant help you only a suggestion .

We have on a garden tractor forum a buddy system that is working fairly well we call it the cubcadet transport system and have been able to get tractors as big as a farmall cub across country darn near free may take a little longer to transport but we are all family and do for each other

Maybe this forum could run a system like that in another say "community transportation"

On the left side of the page, under Community, is marked hauling schedule. Check it out, list it there

I have an LUC engine in reasonable condition here in Seattle if you are interested. Needs a clutch housing/ drive but engine is complete and free.

If you are not interested would you be interested is selling your clutch/ and drive?

I was told the tractor engine and combine engine are different is this so?Is your motor a runner or does it need rebuilt?Would like to find one closer.I want to try to get this combine to the feild this fall. How much do you got to have for it.Thanks for the reply

tractor and combine engines will interchange. The combine engine has a large frost plug on it that the tractor engine doesnt, and it has bigger inlet/outlet waternecks so you either have to use the combine radiator, or swap necks for the tractors smaller ones if you are going to use the tractor radiator.

I have never ran it.It turns over and has compression. I got it with the intention of using it as a stationary power unit for my silo filler. Was never able to come up with a final drive for it. No idea what happened to the original. I bought it from an estate.
I have been told this one came off a combine. I do know that there is a larger engine on some model combines but never researched what fits what. What does the tag on your engine say?
Shoot me an email address and we can make some arrangements.

My LA engines and my LUC engines all have the large frost plug ? The water outlets are larger on the LUC but I put one in my LA and used the LUC radiator. Bolted right in. I could of swapped the water outlets , but my rad. was junk too.

Maybe the L tractor engine with the smaller cyl. bores is the one without that large frost plug ?
