5.3 Chevy hard to start when warm

My 5.3 1999 starts perfectly every time when the engine is cold , like when it sits overnight.

But when it sits for maybe a half an hour to an hour, about the time you would be in a store, when I try to start it I have to hold the throttle down about a inch or so and crank it for a few seconds to get it to start.

Every thing else seems normal.

What do you think?

Agree w/Axehandle.Sounds like FP regulator.

No gas should be visible when vacuum hose is pulled off.FP reg is on driver's side of engine at fuel rail.

About a 99 percent chance its the fuel pressure regulator, pull the vacuum hose off of it and if it is leaking fuel it is bad, easy fix on a 5.3 just a snap ring. Just make sure you get all the old o rings and screen out of the fuel rail.

Thanks guys.

I was told that it was the check valve which is part of the fuel pump. And that the whole pump needs to be replaced.

It will be nice if its the the FPR.
