We had about an inch or more of rain today. The snow is all gone, but the ground is still froze, so at least we dont have the mud! Anyone else have alot of rain today?

We've had 40 inches of snow this winter, plus a couple inches of rain.

So far.

Had an inch of snow today, with 30-45 mph winds. 25+ sustained winds. All day.

Roads are all close 50 miles all around me, they pulled the plows off at 3:30. Lot of wrecks.

Temp started at 30 or so this early morning, dropping to 7 now, will be below zero over nite.

Been shut in all day.

No, didn't have any rain.

Hi Jay, 'Bout an inch and a half her in western NY,lots of high water issues cause the ground is frozen and lots of run off. But supposed to drop in temp and freeze every thing up, will make some nice skating for my girls. Dave

My wife liked the pics of your hens. She was glad to hear you are soft hearted like her and can not butcher them. The farm is not too far from Cabbellas sports store. If you ever plan a trip to there let us know we would be able to meet you.

No snow here in Seneca County NY. Rain made sure to leave a muddy mess and fill the ditches in some places over the roads. Felt like spring today. Gettin eager to shoot some woodchucks. Anybody else?

Be thankfull.
This is what I have after the 10" +/- of snow melted after this weekend in central Illinois - guess the little buggers had to come out to see.
Gonna have to research that Rodendator!

Probably the same storm system, last Thursday, 6" in 2 hours in N. Florida. My driveways gone, fields are lakes, but no ice or snow, thank God.

Down at the 700 foot level the snow is history except for banks and piles. Up at 1200 feet there's still snow, but greatly reduced, and about to turn into frozen slop with the upcoming (re-)freeze. I actually find the worst mud is in conditions like this where the top is melted and the ground under is frozen. The water in the thawed top has no place to go. Day like today at least that layer is pretty thin most places, though a couple spots on the dirt roads are bad/deeper. In spring it's just awful with 6 inches of mud sitting on frozen stuff under it (and the snowbanks keeping the sides frozen longer) until the whole mess thaws and dries out and the road grader finally comes around to sort it back out.

And how about the wind? All sorts of tree parts broken and scattered today.

3" of rain here today. Central Ontario. Fields flooded, streets flooded, highways closed. Water everywhere. Wife went to town this morning about halfway through the rainfall, took her an extra half hour getting home with all the backtracking around flooded roads.

Yes Jay, You didn't wring enough out of the clouds as they went over so we got a good down pour here in NH. I used my pickup, which I don't drive much in the winter, to take a radiator to the repair shop. It got a good undercarriage wash.
