scrap hauling today, good prices

Scrap went up, so we're hauling in unprepared iron today for $190/ton. I thought that was pretty good, so two old Hiniker field cultivators are going to scrap heaven. Maybe your guys prices are higher? I never know if we get fair prices per ton here or not.

Might be a good time to get that old mixer wagon loaded with junk out and get rid of it. Trouble is,I'd probably run over something under the snow getting it out and ruin a $1500 tire in the process. Gotta concider all the variables before I get greedy.

Yeah, sounds like one of my escapades years ago. Wife was getting after me to clean up behind the barn, so I loaded up a pick-up load of scrap and hauled it to the junkyard. Got $8 for the scrap, got a screw in a truck tire, cost me $12 to fix the flat. Sure didn't make much that day.

Yes the prices are up and the Meth heads are out stealing everything they can get their hands on around here again. It does not matter if its copper or tin if they can get a dollar for it they steal it.

Thats explains why the copper thiefs are out again. Story in local news about a church that is being built and someone broke in and stole the copper off of their 20ton ac unit that was sitting inside. They said they hope the guy who stole it really needed it to support his family and didn't just use it for drug money.

Must be.Seen good usable equiptment and lots of old tractors that didnt go 2 years ago going across scales again. Think Im going to set on my old stuff and have only 1 known to exist.

Just called on the price here . Cast iron is 120.00 a ton Clean Aluiminum .45 cents a pound.Looks like all the scrap money to be made is in your area. I'm in Washington State

I get left over junks of clean cooper from work and take it in after I get a couple hundred pounds of it. Around here cooper goes for $2.50 a pound.Last year on the news when cooper hit 3 bucks a pound, people in Detriot were dismanteling transformers from the electric company for the cooper. One guy lost an arm because he didn't unhook it from the power source correctly.Quit a price to pay for a little cash. Lucky he didn't loose his life.

I don't know about that. I think it would have been "lucky" for society if he had been killed. The guy was most likely a druggie, I suspect that this was not the first time he's stole stuff. Probably been ripping off people for years. And I'm sure that he went to the hospital without insurance and the rest of us are picking up the tab for his injuries. Now, he's probably looking for a lawyer to sue the Electric Company. He'll end up being a millionaire and our rates will go up to pay for it.
