O/T: Prayers requested

Our youngest son, who just turned 7 on Thursday, told my wife that he had a big 'ball' in his scrotum. I checked it and it is definitely a hernia. He said it doesn't hurt, but it will not go back up where it belongs. Going to go to a doctor tommorrow morning. I understand that this is very common and easily treated. It just doesn't make it any easier to see a little guy in danger. Since I am self employed and self-insured, paying for this could be a problem, which doesn't help.

We obviously won't know anything until we see a doctor. We would appreciate your prayers that he will remain healthy until this can be repaired and the stress my wife and I are feeling won't make him scared.

Thank you.

Christopher

[b:de8e730c58]Done. [/b:de8e730c58] If he had two little balls and one big one = Hernia. One little ball and one big one = swollen testicle. If they catch a lick directly or a hard lick to the area they (one or both) can swell to two or three times their normal size. Had it happen two years ago and told my GP that it was time to take it to an Urologist. He had an ultrasound done to check for testicular cancer after giving it a few weeks for the swelling to go down. I cleared that fence, but other testing raised some red flags regarding my prostate. Two years later after semi-annual testing the cancer was found. It was in an area that did not show up with the digital-rectal exam(old finger test) and my PSA was about 4.5, but had been increasing. I had surgery and was on more prayer lists than I deserve. They were able to get all the cancer and the recovery is going better than I deserve. Prayer is a powerful tool. I hope all works out for the little fellow.

Most of the time it is a very simple operation to correct. My son had that problem when he was young, had the operation and was fine. Even won a state championship in wrestling when he was in highschool. We will say a prayer, and good luck.
