Air filter design specifications

I am working on an odd project (many of my projects are odd) where I need to try to find out how fine the filtration is with air cleaners. Oil and hydraulic filters are rated for filtering out down to some given size particle. Ten and twenty micron filtration seems to be common. So far the only thing I have found out about air filters is flow rate in CFM, but nothing about the size of particles they stop. If somebody knows, please pass on the information. Thank you.

go to wix filters and do a search for any filter. they can cross reference any as well. Then you can get all the dimensions including size, cfm, and micron ratings. A good way to compare filters when more than one will work. Same for oil filters.

The guys on the Diesel Page did a comparison test a few years ago and rated a bunch of filters. Here is a link to the discussion on that topic.
