can't shift

i have a farmall super a. i've replaced the clutch, pressure plate, release bearing, pilot bushing, and fork. i've tried adjusting the pedal linkage. i still can't shift gears without turning off the engine.

Don't ya just hate that?
My guesses would be:

1: clutch too thick - makes pressure plate not have enough travel

2: pilot bushing is binding - bypasses the clutch all together, locked solid

3: wrong clutch linkage - maybe it was taken off another model of tractor at some time in its life and is just a hair too short?

4: defective pressure plate - who knows?

if you hold the clutch down can you stop the tractor while its running in gear? if so I'd say you are close, just need a slight amount more of travel. You are gonna have to split the tractor again, sorry. good luck!

Clutch disk being backwards is a common mistake if you are unaware that it can only go one way. I also had to split one Allis for a do it your selfer where the clutch forks were out of adjustment.

Any way you will have to split it, but be careful to keep the appropriate free play or you will split it again to change your throw out bearing.

Happy wrenching.

or a nut dropped a nut in there , LOL ,son and nephew placed a new clutch on work bench in a manner that it adhered to a greasey 1/4 nut that just happened to be laying there, in the low lite and teenage haste , they Put that F150 back together and went for a road test ,,NO CLUTCH !!!
