coil question..

I have a 62 ford 4000 gas, I bought a new coil today and it has the pos. and neg. post, but the old one only say batt. and dist. Which wire goes to what on the tractor? Thanks for any help! Plus this tractor is a 6 volt pos. ground.

In this case, what was the "batt" wire goes to the negative post of the coil, the "dist" wire goes on the positive post. PJ

Real simple which ever ground you have on your tractor is also the side of the coil that goes to the distributor. I.E. is - ground - goes to the distributor and it + ground + goes to the distributor and that hold true on ALL engines
