I put on a new fuel filter, charged the batteries, primed the filter till the fuel squirted out. Added 12 gal fresh fuel with additive. It's 35 degrees. Had the block heater and magnetic pan heater on for several hours. Tried to start and nothing. It turns over but doesn't fire even once. What have I overlooked?

I missed this one. Did it run out of fuel? If so have you cracked the injector fuel connectors all of them and start cranking it over and watch the air bubbles until it starts to squirt fuel one at a time tightening each one starting with the front one first it should start to run missing until all are bled. If due to cold weather make sure you have not used starting fluid and stick a hair dryer in the intake for about 15 minutes and then turn it over and it should start this usually works and has for many years. If not you have another problem. CT

There is still probably wax and/or air at some point prior to the injection pump's high pressure element/plunger.
There is a drain plug on the side of the injection pump. If fuel isn't running clear and free from there. Don't waste time, batteries and the start motor by cranking.
You can use a 2-3psi of shop air on the fuel tank to push fuel. If the return line is disconnected and plugged.
Additives for engines and herbal pills for people are a way over rated magic elixirs. Sold to easily solve all of one's problems.
Run #1 winter diesel or this problem will not go away. Diesel fuel is like honey. Once it clouds and gels. It never goes back.

I woke up in the middle of the night thinking that maybe that was the problem-I am getting old and forgetful. I've checked it about 50 times since and the kill knob is down.

buickanddeere[/quote]If the return line is disconnected and plugged. Also fuel is gelled.

Why do you state disconnect return line???? How can fuel be gelled if tractor wasn't running, filter has been changed?

I've blown air in fuel tanks several times to help hard bleeding gravity flow tractors such as the Ford 3000 and never disconnected /blocked return line. They all started after the bubble free fuel arrived.

On fuel gelling I thought fuel needed to move through filter so wax could coat filter. Will just bleeding NEW filter with 35% fuel stop it up?
