Phillip d,

My wife and I visited PEI in Oct, 2009. She wanted to see Anne of Green Gables house and area. One of the first things I noticed was how clean everything is in your province. Farm buildings are very well maintained. I have to go back some day and visit with you farmers and enjoy more of the island. And...eat more lobster!

Eastern Ontario, here. It's snowing outside. We're just getting set to head down 81 to the Pennsylvania Farm Show. Our friends have been raving about this festival for some time now, and this is the year. 12:00 Friday it's the Squaredancing Tractor Show.

Starting to look that way. Maybe we should become a republic again. That way we could live off the American tax payers.

Co Carlow Ireland dont know much about your tractor models etc so dont chat much but dip in most days to see what you are all at . have a couple of fordson majors deutz and a valtra . just had -16 c temp here most unusual -7 is normally extreme great forum

i dunno about that...if we put a meter on those big natural gas lines leavin Texas headin north i believe we'd be in tall cotton...other than Alaska i believe we're one of the few states that could be completely self reliant...ever wonder why our electrical grid aint tied in with the national grid? hehehehehe

Sure sounds wonderfull! If you want some ideas of who and where you can find some certified tractor guru's just ask,as you fine folks likely noticed,we live in a SMALL province,so I know most of the farmers here lol.

The Nation Power Grid is built with several independent sections. They all have functional inter-tie lines from grid to grid. Making it all one National Power Grid from the Arctic Ocean to Central America. All one 60 frequency in sync.
As the August 2003 Blackout showed. In case of a major grid failure. The tie lines will open and isolate the local grid. To prevent a collapse of the National Grid.
That's why the North East US and Ontario when dark after a line failed in Ohio causing a cascade failure.

Bet this is a towel head in disguise everyone knows Jesus should have said "no comprende Englasa" now where is my government check?

Me too and you had me scratching my head there for a minute, but I guess since we've had a Canadian governor for 7 years now,we might as well declare Canadian citizenship.

Maybe I should move down there while I can still get in without having to apply for citizenship.

East central Illinois . Mahomet,9mi.west of Champaign,Illinois on I74. Illinois is the state where we have to keep sending our governor to JAIL!!!!!!!!!!! But we have the I&I Tractor & Gas Engine Club & the Half Century Of Progress every 2 years. We are not all bad.

Ontario canada 1 hour drive east of detroit.when i plant corn i,am 150 feet from the water of lake erie on a clear day i can see steam from the power plant of cleveland.

Southern Ontario,5 miles from Nanticoke, site of the largest coal-fired generating station in the world (they tell us).

Meter on gas lines heading north? Probably would be considered legal as Louisiana has their version of gas export tax- (called a depletion fee?)- that has passed court review. If Texas goes to federal court for reimbursement of legal expenses gaurding border and convicting drug smugglers using the takings clause for police services- as was done for federal required background checks by local police for firearms purchase-and external_link doesn"t pay, then repo state from federal government, declare state martial law until paid. This would tie up courts for next 2 election cycles and by the time gets to supreme court the statute of limitations would have run out and Supreme court would say moot point- Texas is free. Might have fun with that. RN

"ever wonder why our electrical grid aint tied in with the national grid?"

You don't think the current administration would leave a good thing alone, do you?

Hello,

I saw your last name and I had to wonder. Do you happen to be related to any of the McCool's near Guthrie Center, Iowa? Don't mean to be nosy, but I just wondered if there was any connection.

As our foreign Queen would say. Orstrelia. Our pollies haven't got the guts to ditch her,
I didn't realise half these States were not in the USA. My teachers certainly gave me a bum steer, the Atlas has just been dumped for I believe everything I read on here.

They don't teach geography is the US school system anymore.
I've asked adult Americans point out the US on a map of North America. More often than not they indicate from the Arctic Ocean to almost the Panama Canal.

Bruce from Ontario,

Do you live near the location of the Sept, 2010 International Plowing Match site? Elgin Co.?

I plan to go see that. Looks like a big show.

I'm from The Netherlands or, if you prefer, Holland. Born and raised on a farm with HEAVY clay. In the past, a team of three to sometimes four (Belgian) draft horses would pull a 1 bottom plow. My Grandfather's first tractor, a Farmall Super A dual fuel had more than its hands full sometimes on a 12 inch one bottom plow. FWD is now the norm.
Dave2 is 350 miles from here.

(quoted from post at 15:33:51 01/13/10) Do you mean outside of the 57 states?

Gordo

I think he means outside of [b:cb4a512fac][i:cb4a512fac]TEXAS[/i:cb4a512fac][/b:cb4a512fac] and her 49 Colonies.
