Just took a look at DTN......that report must have sure shook the bulls...corn and wheat both down $0.30. Glad mine from '09 is gone and a big chunk of'10 priced.

There had been talk of a couple of huge funds buying a whole lot of grain in the first two weeks of the year. Guess traders must have overbought in anticipation.

Corn down 30 and beans down 34 at noon. If the "funds" bought grains high, aren't they going to have to figure out a way to drive prices back up later so they can sell at a profit?

I thought it was because the corn and bean harvest report came in pretty high. Lots of supply yields low prices?

There were 6 big funds that were rumered to be buying. 90% of that was by just 2 of them. I'm thinking that the other traders bought in anticipation of turning a profit when those 6 bought. Time will tell I guess, just what happened.

I thought it was interesting that the report considered corn still in the field "Farm Stored" with full yield potential. The corn I have seen still in the field is starting to look tough.

Helped a neighbor pick corn today. The corn looked a whole lot better from the road than it did after we got it opened up. It will only get worse. Talked about selling more 09 and 10 crop yesterday, talk is cheap.

Went down to Ft. Wayne today to the Farm Show with three other guys. We passed quite few fields still atanding. No way can you compare that to on-farm storage!!

Strange week or month , Beans dropped Monday ,,Started out month with Corn reving up 75 centsin 30 days to keep up with the price of a barrel of oil ,, and soybeans really got strong , sold some corn at 4 bucks when the basis closed to within 20 cents because the Illinois river was frozen to barge traffic,, Usually Jefferson river terminal is around 35 -50 cents under C B of T ..flucuation depends on mood... / I feel This is nothing more than the $$$fuel Gamblers that ripped off america in 2008 getting bored and deciding that grain markets could give them better profits ...and ..so ,,Get ready to ride a ROLLER COASTER
