What ever happened to two trucks with a single rotating light in the roof?
This afternoon I came up behind a tow truck traveling down the road with so many of those gosh darn amber strobes it blinded ya It made it dangerous for anyone that was traveling near the truck in the dark.
After being blinded after foolishly staring one strobe about as bright as the sun, I laid back until I could see again. Got around him safely albeit it with luck. Not until about 10 miles more down the road I run into another tow truck under way. Again with 50 or so amber strobes. Worse on this one he still had the floodlights on and blinding anyone coming up from behind.
It is clear to me that these lights are not safe they are only to fulfil the egos of these tow truck owners. In talking to a friend who runs a tow truck, he mentioned to me that the warning lights are not required to be on (as in no law), just kids who like to play with them.
I hate to see the government stick their foot into anything but something has to be done with this crap. Just too dangerous to blind people out on the road all in the name of fulfilling some ego. I would complain to the police, but they seem to be in the same boat, adding more blinding lights to the cruisers all in the name of "safety".
Not trying to be a stick in the mud just ranting.
