USPS Complaint.

I sent an e-mail to the Postmaster General about the slow mail in my state. Actually the complaint was for my FIL who is a retired rural carrier.

Believe it or not I did get an e-mail back asking me for my FIL's phone number so they could talk about the problems.

Please send e-mail complaints to; [email protected]

The more complaints the better.

We cannot complain! We have OUTSTANDING service from our rural route carriers and the PO in general.
Anything to big for the mailbox and they bring it the half mile up to the house and are cheerful doing it.
Now the PO in an adjacent town is a whole different story, got ta stand in line while they visit about every illness known to man.
But on balance we get good service, better than 99% of the stores we go into.

Like all service based businesses, it comes down to the motivation and attitude of the employees. I have had excellent service from USPS. They are half the price of the big boys, and now they are forcing the big boys to "sharpen their pencil" on pricing.
They bring anything that will not fit in the mailbox to the front door.

I've got no complaints with my mail service. My carrier delivers pretty close to the same time every day, and if it won't fit in the mailbox, she brings it to the porch and rings the doorbell. If every business mastered customer service that way, life would be a whole lot easier.

USPS has been pretty darn good around here. I'd have to email them with compliments, not complaints? Few other parts of govt work as dependably as they do 'here'.

I usually get stuff in a week +/- a day or so. My stuff has to go to NY, then to Frankfurt, and several stops before it hits my mailbox. Not much to complain about there. Holidays and weather is slowing things down at the moment though.

Ask him which they get faster and respond to faster, a complaint by email or a complaint by snail mail. Then ask him what price stamp he would like to put on all emails.

Sorry to hear about your poor service Rollie. We have very good USPS here, in fact, they come by six days a week just to see if I have anything to send out. FedEX and UPS never come by to check for outgoing.

I know - apples to oranges. . .

Good service where I live as well. UPS is better than it used to be and for awhile I only ordered shipments via USPS and refused those sent by UPS when I had specified postal.

I am however a former letter carrier so I am a little partial.

I wonder if the other services beside USPS delivers: bees, ladybugs, crickets, fertilized eggs, ducks, chickens, seahorses, cremated human remains and few others I'm sure I've forgotten? Been there, done that for all of those.

Two years ago my FIL moved closer to me. A total distance of 23 mile from where he was living. He still subscribes to his hometown paper. This summer he started getting Mondays paper on Thursday, sometimes he would get 3 days paper at once. One paper was 9 days late.

A newspaper is second class mail but goes with first class mail, so there should be no excuse.

Three weeks ago my BIL who is a rural carrier told me that 3 trailer loads of mail was missing at a mail processing facility. The postal service can track it to that facility but no one knows what happened to it. I remember reading about it in the local paper.

We call our rural carrier "Back Track". He has to take back the mail he delivered to the wrong place the day before.
