Record Temperature

Officially, in the lower 48, it was Aberdeen, SD with a reading of minus 31. I checked them out on weather underground though, and I see a reading of minus 34 at 0053 and again at 0253 this morning. A quite pleasant plus 10 in central Wis.

Not me. I've got 11 above. Grand Rapids Mi had 17. I thought they said Atlanta had 14. Ain't that something? Guess the currents have changed in Lake Michigan and caused our climate to change. lol

Only -20 here near Bemidji, MN this morning. Kinda funny, was talking to my folks in Iowa lastnight. My mother said that she called in to work a couple of times this past week cause of the cold weather, not wanting to make the 20 mile trip in it. Guess we take it for granted, just another day up here.

Just see on the TV where Emporia has -14. I'm 70 Miles NNE and had +3. We were hiding under a cloud cover all night.

Guess we're having a heat wave around St. Louis. 6 above this morning. Tomorrow morning could get down to 0.

A very cold + 5 in far southwestern NC about 110 miles north of Hotlanta. That is the coldest it has been since we moved here 11 years ago. WE did see + 7 last year. Up till then it was + 14. I guess Global warming is arriving faster than we thought. Even florida has snow and freezing temps way down. Henry

Was - 15 this morning at 5am ... it's -9 now at 9;30am central Iowa ..
Finish pushing snow and didn't take long for fingers to get cold ...
Heat wave coming ... suppose to be in the 20's next week ...

Way down there at the yellow dot, we got down to 28 above. I heard that's a record for this date. Hopefully the Rio Red Grapefruit doesn't suffer too much.

Not as much snow, but sure feels like winters did when I was a kid in the 70"s. I had -20 on the barn thermometer this a.m. at 5. Ahh, the cycles of the earths weather patterns, changing every decade or two, oh wait, I"m not supposed to confuse couple hundred year history of decade long weather patterns with the theory of Global warming/manmade climate change. Sorry Al.

Cold enough here that the well diggers and witches are complaining about their body parts.

i'm about 300 miles north of ya and high here yesterday was 26...it was 19 when i went to bed last nite.

Aaaah, the memories...I went to college in Aberdeen and lived there 1976-1985. I think those were some of the coldest years in their history. I remember taking the battery out of my car at night and keeping it in the house every night (ran Mobil 1 oil and the car was in the garage). We didn't get above 0 for 6 days, and above 32 for 60 days that winter! We had wind chills close to -70....we just left our cars running when we went to the store. Don't miss those extremes at all!

Got over to Dads at around 8 this morning and his outside thermometer on the grainery showed -36, don't know how accurate it was but we had no wind and my eyes would ice shut just walking in the yard. Never felt it that cold with no wind before. My thermometer at home bottoms out at -20, and it was there at 9pm last night and clear skies all night.

Was -6 on the thermometer in my vehicle when I pulled into our house in Central Missouri this morning. Couldn't have the gloves off my hands for more than a few moments at a time. Snow blowing around and drifting 4 or 5 feet high in the fencelines and around buildings. It's coooold out there. Windchill of minus 20 something early this morning.Didn't see any sign of Al Gore.

130 F in the sun today before I removed it, thought it may be hotter but the thermo was at its max.6 stars South West of that one .
