I am going through my family pictures. Can anyone identify this tractor (make and model)? I know they had farmall, John Deere, and Twin City over the years.
Thanks,

Looks like a Farmall Regular based on the small round gas tank at the rear of the main fuel tank.

Looks like an F12 due to a straight steering shaft and I can't see the seat support but should be just a straight pipe. We had one when I was very young so barely remember it. I'm not sure it's a Farmall tho. IMHO

The F12 and F14 had straight axles and the rear wheels clamped on like the wheels on an H. The Regular and F20 had wheels that bolted onto a hub as in the picture.

OK, what is the small device that appears to be mounted on the far side frame rail, just above and behind the bellhousing?

I think that is an optional cushioned seat offered by IH. There is a picture on page 71 of the F Series Originality Guide of that seat on an F20.

Looks like a generator. Probably had a couple lights on it that you can"t see. That is about the only place a generator could be driven from on the Regulars.Don"t remember seeing one with a flat belt. Our Regular"s generator was driven by a V belt.

To be really fussy, it's called a FARMALL, International Harvester's first row crop tractor. It was introduced in 1923. As I understand the 'Regular" name is a nickname that came to be after the FARMALL 30 came out in 1931 and the Farmall 20 in 1932. Correct me if I'm wrong but that's what Wendell's '150 Years of International Harvester' states. I didn't know the 30 was made first, then the 20. Jim

Why did some of them drive wheels have spade type lugs and some like in the picture or did you have a choice? This type of lugs look like would of rode a lot smoother. Great picture. That horse is thinking there is no way they will ever love that machine more then me.

Oh yea you're right I was probably about the age of the yong pup on the seat when I first saw ours so what would I know? I don't like horses so I would have been preoccupied. :-> LOL
