My 3930 will not start and I am in dire need of it to feed the cows. The battery has plenty of juice. It has a selonoid with apost on the top and one directly under it. The top post shows postive on a test light with the key in the start position-there is no response from the bottom post in the start position-should there be? Also it shows no response at the post of the starter? Any suggestions??

I'm not too good on electronics, so I'll mention the simple stuff which you have probably already done, clean battery posts and check condition of cables and connectors.

KEH

A few times on my 4630 when there was no response at the starter I found my PTO lever was partially off the safety switch. Just push it back all the way to off and see if that helps.

There is a ground stud on the end of the starter motor. Take the cable off, clean the connections, tighten the jamb nut on the stud, then reinstall the cable.
Probably wouldn't hurt to check and clean the other battery cable on the top of the solenoid. Once that's done, check to see if you have power coming from the key to the top blade on the solenoid. If not, check the wires at the neutral safety switch and the PTO safety switch (on the PTO lever) There should be power in and power out when you're cranking.
Last but not least, you can go into the fuse panel and find the square relay for the ignition circuit. Check that there's power there on the smaller control circuit and the larger blades that supply power to the solenoid. Could also be a bad relay...
Honestly... what I usually do is put the tractor in neutral, lock the brakes... then jump power onto the top blade on the solenoid OR short the posts from the solenoid top to bottom. If ti starts you know the primary connections are good and the starter works. If it doesn't, then you look at the starter or the cables...

I have a 3230 and as long as the high low gear is in neutral and the pto lever is off making the switch, it will start. Sometimes I have to move the high/low gear back and forth a couple of times too, especially if I'm in low and move it to the center. I usually have to move it to high, then back to center. Also, just because you have 12v on the battery, doesn't mean it does under load. But, it sounds like your not pulling in your solenoid in, at all. If you have a volt meter, check voltage at the small wire connection on the solenoid. If you have it there, the solenoid may be stuck, hit it a good one and get that hay out. If it continues to stick replace it. I don't know where you are located but it is very cold here in Alabama.

One other thing to check that happened on my 3930.

The wire to the fuel shut off would vibrate loose, then it wouldn"t open the solenoid when the key was on.

Simple once I figured it out. Just 12v from the ignition. Replaced the 1/4" connector, no problems in 5 years.
