unstyled b transmission case

has anyone on here ever changed out a transmission case on a unstyled b john deere,i have found one that looks good but it needs a transmission case , before i take it i wanted to see how big of a job this would be, if you know please let me know,thanks billy

Worked for a Deere dealership when the B"s were new. We changed one occasionally and it is quite a job. Be prepared for much frustration and many skinned elbows and knuckles. Have fun!!

That's the only way to restore one. Tear it clear down to an empty case and start going the other way.

An unstyled shouldn't be too bad. Just make sure it is the same as the one your replacing.
