OT Ghosts

Anyone believe in them or had experiances with them .

i blame them for everything that goes wrong. kind of like gremlins

I have reason to believe the spirit of a young lady I was engaged to briefly before I met my wife of 44 years, and who died fairly young without ever marrying, is following me around.

Also, my nephew once owned a farmhouse where "strange" things happened. Nothing menacing, it was just that unusual things happened. He'd come home from work and find a closet door standing open that he knew had been closed and latched when he left in the morning. He'd work in the yard for an hour or two in the evening, then come in the house and find a chair moved in the living room. Or he'd leave a coffee cup on one end of the counter in the kitchen when he went to bed, then when he got up the next morning the cup would be on the other end of the counter.

I could tell more stories, but that should suffice for now.

No experience and not searching for any. But if you believe everyone has a soul, then potentially "ghosts" or perhaps more appropriately wayward souls, could exist.

I have never expierenced anything that was not un-natural.

I saw bring it on show me something. If you actually saw a real ghost then it would answer alot of queations about creation.

There are no such things as ghosts. demons are always mistaken for ghosts. All those shows ghost investigation shows on tv are bogus or they are dealing with demons.

Was this before or after the last election?

I never have but I know 2 guys that have seen the top half of one. Very spooky.

Never seen one myself but I know people that have. My grandmother was one of the most religious people you ever want to meet and she would swear up and down there was an old farmer that haunted a house she lived in when younger. She told many times of having a conversation with him on her front porch swing one evening.

When we first moved from out of our old house (origionally my Great Grandmas house) Mom and dad had renters in there for years. One was a single lady that was having alot of troubles in her life. She told of looking up one night and seeing an old lady sitting in the chair across from her at the kitchen table. They talked and the lady told her that everything was going to work out for her and be all right. She said they talked on for a little while and she eventually looked away for something and when she looked back the lady was gone. At the time the lady had never even been in my parents new house so there was no way she could have seen a pic or even known about Grandma Tilley. A day or somafter the encounter she told my Mom about the experience. When asked to describe the lady she described my Great Grandma Tilley in pretty good detail, right down to the cloths she typically wore. After the description Mom showed her a pic of her Grandma Tilley and the woman about dropped over when she saw it. She said that without a doubt that was the lady she talked to. At the time Grandma Tilley had been dead for something like 25 or 30 year. After that lady moved out single guy moved in. He had a friend from out of town came up to visit and was staying with him for a few days. The friend got up in the middle of the night for something and got so scared he packed his stuff and left without saying a word. When the guy renting the place got up with him a day or so later he said all his buddy told him was that he had seen something and had never been so scared in his life. He said that he knew he couldn't stay in the house a minute longer so he left right then and there. The next renters were a young couple. They never saw anything that we heard about but they did experience doors opening and closing by themselves, object being moved when they weren't home or were asleep, etc We lived in that house for over 20 years ourselves so we knew what kinds of things happened with the old house and why and the things they experienced were well beyond the relm of drafts moving the doors, etc. So it had to be something unknown doing everything.

Now do I personally believe in ghosts, I don't know. While I've never experienced anything myself I do believe is that there is something going on that we can't explain but what it is I really can't say.

Yeah. Neighbours swore their house had ghosts in it, swore they went up and down the stairs. My sister bought it.

They described the noises. From spending time there I determined the source of the ghosts.

Its the old post and beam framing making noises in the wind and during changes in humidity. The main stair case is the only diagonal bracing in the structure so it makes 90% of the noise in the wind.

Nah! Dont beleive in them, but I have seen a few show up here lately.

No,Im trucker 40 and I dont believe in Ghosts.I also dont have any other names except trucker which wont work for some reason.I guess they thought I died when I got sick and didnt post for a year.

Mom used to tell us stories about seeing things and things happening where she grew up in WV. Lost my direction a little while hunting there as a kid and got darked on. You could be a believer pretty quick in them dark woods. OTH, I kept thinking I heard footsteps and rustling and decided to follow them after I figured out nothing was going to hurt me and ended up on the road where Dad and Brother was looking for me... Never saw anything though.
3 or 4 years ago, I worked with a Soldier that swore he saw things in the building we worked in (he'd spend nights there alone surfing and webcaming back home). Said he'd see a little kid watching him out of the corner and when he'd look he'd run off. I thought he was nuts and kept telling his boss to get him some help. Come to find out, the building used to be a kids hospital and the terminal kids were kept on our floor.

A few years back I went to see a young lady that I knew. She work as a milker on a large farm. The night I was there, we stoped in to the womans house who did the accounting for the farm to pick up her check. As we chatted with the lady and her husband in the kitchen, a lamp in the living room went on and off several times. They all said, "Don't worry, that's just our ghost". talking to them it was clear they were convinced they had a harmless ghost in the house.
6 monthe later they had a house fire. the cause was a wireing short.

oh, ok. you two just had similar gibberish for "posts". my bad.

The folks that bought my folks old farm house say they keep hearing voices. We had seven of us total. Five of us kids all talking at the same time. Maybe our voices are still echoing. Never noticed anything while I grew up there.

Mother-inlaw's sister believes in ghosts, spirits, signs, omens etc.Won't travel on certain dates. Wouldn't let a highly qualified left handed surgeon perform vital surgery she needed asap.
Drives me absolutely buts when she gets going.

I lived in a house when first married where the woman that lived there before, and I knew her personally, had died and was found under the bed with her hands gripping the bedsprings(old type). If ever a house would have been haunted, that would be the one. Nothing, NADA, perfectly normal. Dave

A load of rubbish. It is always "they say" but I haven't been able to catch up to "they".. very elusive.
Now Fairies in my garden, that's a different matter and not forgetting the leprauchauns.

Grew up in many old houses,lots of creaks and groans but no ghosts.

I believe that there are many things we don't understand. But I don't believe dead people walk the earth.

I have talked with people who said they have seen them.I have had things happen that make me wonder.My Border Collie died when he was just 9 years old.3 vets coulnt help.My son helped me bury him on Sunday.On Monday I brought home a Border collie pup.Several days later I was taking the pup out doors and saw my dog that had just died laying in his usual spot under the picnic table.I walked over close to see better but there was nothing there.When I bought this farm in 1966 I was hunting near the back boundry a mile from home.Sun was setting and I wished I had brought my compass.I looked down and saw a compass between my feet..The top cover was open.There was a bit of rust on the dial but it still worked.I followed its North direction and got home ok.I took my truck over to the corner store.Forgot my sun glasses, looked down and saw a pair on the gas pump island.I was hauling fire wood on the highway 2 years ago.I noticed a big tree on a neighbors lawn looked bad.It had shed it leaves early.I was going to stop and tell him what I thought about the tree.Then I thought he will think I am nuts.2 days later the tree fell and took the corner off his garage and did some damage to his house.I do think that loved ones and good friends who have passed on are always on your mind you may see them from time to time.Then you go to a place you have never been before and it looks very familiar.I was walking along a brook when i stopped to look at some stone.A dead tree fell right where I would have been if I hadnt stopped to look at the stone.Go figure..
