i dont like winter to much, i am reading and looking at my seed catalogs wishing it were spring so i can turn the soil and start planting again

Well I farm but I like winter OK. I swear I can take this cold (13 for a high today) better than I can take 110 in the summer.

I agree...I like winter better than a hot summer, and no flies or bugs of any kind to bother me or the cattle...

can you sell the farm and buy in Florida it only gets into the 90's there and in winter well you know.]

Drove by a field that has been worked up since the last snow. Think they were knifing in liquid hog manure. Must have been a interesting ride!

I don't particuly like it myself. We don't get a whole lot of cold weather here. I went duck hunting yesterday and it was about 20 degrees. Its getting down to 16 tonight but the cold weather normally doesn't last that long.

I used to until I started plowing other people out and sold my snowmobile. I think its my 4th year plowing and I loath snow now! I'll be happy when the snow stops in about another 4 months.

I used to really like it. But I used to ski a bit, don't do that too much anymore. As I get older, I like it less. I am thinking of insulating and heating my barn / workshop. That will give me a place to work on things in the winter.

Winter here makes me appreciate spring, summer and fall, especailly summer which can semm short. Each year that summer falls on a weekend we try to have a picnic. Gary

Well....I LIKE IT!!! Heck of a lot better than sweating my hind end off in july and august. Tractors not starting isnt much fun, but you just gotta remember to plug em in. Snow is fun, my 4440 JD and 8' McKee snowblower makes short work of that stuff, always have liked playing in the snow...

I like it, if it snows.

A former boss, dairy farmer, used to say he can put on enough of clothes for the cold, but can never take enough off for the heat.

I don't like it much, but it's nice to have the rest. Just enough chores to keep me busy, but pasture and cropping seasons are over and I know what I have to work with,so a lot easier on the nerves when all the guesswork is finally taken out of it.

depends on how cold or hot and how wet or dry LOL .... Brothers and I Used to think as a young man that we could tuff out a 10 hr day doing construction , home improvement , hogg farming every day .. , and get by just fine at noon sitting in the truck eating a cold boloney sandwich with the truck heater to warm up my toes and dry out my gloves... Well sure am glad i have been proven that that kinda life ain't worth a durn ..

I HATE winter beyond the power of words to describe. The hotter it gets in summer; the better I like it.

I like winter, spend a lot of time outside cutting wood. Makes you in the mood for a nice winter nap when you get back inside. The pace of life kind of slows down after the holidays, and that's just fine.

If i didn't LOVE winter I wouldn't live in big snow country in the western UP of Michigan. I think we are over 100 inches of snow so far this season, and I love every minute of it.

Don't mind the snow if it would just stay where it lands. already had more snow this year then the last 10 years combined. If it would just stay a little below freezing would be all right. Wearing a lot of clothes tires this old man out.

Guys, I Do! By Virtue of being born and live in Texas, I love Fall Winter and Spring it is the 100+ degree days I can do without! Once it bust 100 degrees the heat here will suck the breath out of you. It is strange to see people wear knee length shorts with sandals and a down type winter jacket in Austin during Dec and Jan and Feb.
I like the cooler part of weather 65 to 80 year round, If I had my druthers.
Ya'll with Minus degree, single digits and teen degree I can see where it gets old with you.
Just live through our last summer we tied the all time record of days of 100+ degree weather(it was 69 days) It is just the end of the spectrum. It will work on you just the same but on the other end of the thermometer!

John A.

Ain't it funny how a garden seed catalog can make the coldest winter night seem so much warmer. I have been take'n them to work to look trough and dream of spring.

I absolutely love winter, but I"m in se texas where it is awful hot most of the year. What little winter we get is well appreciated here. We get on an average year, 7-8 months of hot weather.

When I was younger I enjoyed winter . Keep the cows fed and the wood box full was it , tinker in the shop a bit .Got to recharge my batteries . Seems to get a little harder each yr. Every yr. about the end of Feb. I ll be swearing that I m selling the cows next fall and just run stockers through the summer , hav nt done it yet , but next yr. !!

I like winter, but then I'm in S. Illinois and not exposed to the real winters like you guys up north.

I did notice that the weather map temp for Detroit was in the low 20's this morning, and it was 9 above way down here at my house.

I like living in a place that has four distinct seasons. East central Wisconsin suits me fine except our springs are usually between the last snow melt and appearance of the first mosquito. About two weeks. Summers are a little short. About three hours around the 4th of July. No shortage of winter though.
