Happy New Year all!!

I am looking at adding to my snow removal equipment, have a 75 HP gas loader tractor but want to put a 125HP tractor to work with a 3pt 8 foot snowblower. Problem is it does not have a cab, am I kidding myself that this is what I should do? 1st problem is getting this older diesel started in the cold weather. I have done this before with a snowmobile suit and helmet but sure doesn"t compare to a cab!!

Only good thing about running a blower without a cab is-

Instead of the back window all covered with snow and unable to see, the snow will be down your neck and back and you won't have to get out of the cab to clean it off.

Just wipe your eyes and go.

Gary.

Before I had a tractor with a cab I installed a piece of clear plexi-glass between the roll-bar upright brackets and that helped alot. I would take a snow scraper I kept by my seat and clean the snow off it. The cab on my new tractor is alot nicer though.

I can't believe the number of people who light fires under equipment, fool around with torches, torpedo heaters, tarps. Or worst of all, use ether as being "normal" operating procedure.
Here is something simple and cheap to just plug in and go. If the temps drop near or below 0F get the battery heaters too.
Blowing snow is like spreading manure. Operate the equipment upwind.

Either wait for the wind to die off or stay upwind... It's still not much fun tho.

I guess crazy depends on wether or not you're going to spend less time moving snow. If it takes you 3 hours now with the small tractor and you can do it in 1/2 the time with the big one, probably not so crazy. If you're going up and down the road blowing snow... probably a little crazy.

I think its time to get yourself one employe. Stay inside watch from the comfort of your easy chair. I would try this
