just bought a bearing for my salt spreader that I use on my Mack dump truck. The box it came in is made and printed in the USA...The bearing is made in China...go figure.
 
Nice box, huh ?? Try to find anything not made in China...I'm amazed how little we actually make here anymore...I drive a Mack RD-690-P with 10' Bonnell Plow , Crysteel Fortress dump bed , Concord Road Equipment CRE-195 roller/spring finger spreader.. I call her ; "The one stack Mack with the salt shaker on the back"....... Kinda sick , isn't it ??

Bought some "Cooper" brand electrical parts from Lowes. Looked on back of package and there was a tape sticker "Made in China" stuck over Made in USA!!!!!! Wonder how many people lost their job? Strange that the price was higher then when they were made in USA!!
 
I've got a '94 Lincoln Mark VIII that takes two identical serpentine belt pulleys. Went to NAPA and bought one (they only had one) that said "Made in USA". I opened it up to see the bearing was Chinese and the plastic pulley was Canadian. Went to CarQuest and got one that also said "Made in USA". It had the identical Chinese/Candadian combination in it.
I'm so glad I bought an American-made box and that at some box factory I helped keep their jobs.
 
I bought 4 valves for a Wisconsin 2 cylinder
engine from NAPA. 2 regular intakes, 2 Stellite
exhausts. Box said DANA CORPORATION, Valves said
China
I would expect that it's the standard of quality
that the manufacturer sets up when they build an
overseas plant that makes a difference. Chinese
workers can produce quality goods when the
standard is demanded and inspected.
 
greygoat---I respect your opinion, but I disagree. I have never bought anything from this Communist country that was better or equil to parts made in other countries.
