OT Dodge Ram Seat

8 way power seat in my 96 Dodge 2500 Ram is hurting. Works in 6 modes but won't go forward or backward. Anyway to attack this without pulling the seat?
Power door locks are "intermittant". Is this in any way related?
Oh, and Yeah, I'm all ready for the big storm.

Gordo, the power seat functions are all powered by a single wire. It could be the power seat switch. Or the forward/back motor could be stuck due to lack of use. See if the motor clicks, or if you notice any rotation when viewing it under the seat. If you get anything, try pushing on the seat while holding back the button. Also be sure the seat rails are well lubed. They don't sell individual parts, just the entire seat frame. pricey.

John, Thanks for the answer. I put a lot of pressure on the seat and got it to move a little. Some "clunking" of the motor. Sprayed it down with some IH chain lube and it's running like a half crazed gerbil in a ferris wheel!
Three hundred bucks saved. I'll send you a Christmas card :)

power windows will likely be a switch just like door locks.. the lil panes pop out easilly and you can disassemble the rocker switches to clean the contacts.. my 98 1500 started doing that a few years ago.. I cleaned them, and they work fine now.
