new addition and some christmas pics

Howdy folks!

Well, we're not snowed in like the Northeast but we have had a nice snow in time for Christmas. Things around the farm are slow but I've been busy workin on house projects so keepin busy. Last monday dad and I traveled to Georgetown to pick up my new combine. It was definitely a great deal. Just 2500 hours and even the original IH radio still works. It is in great shape and I got a good deal on it. Here are a few pics of it, our latest snow, and one for christmas. God bless.

Pretty neat pics... kinda makes me feel all cozy here, old fashioned farmer. Merry Christmas from the eastern foothills of the Rockies! And have a great 2010 too! Yerz, The Frontranger

What vintage is the 1440? I helped a friend harvest wheat in eastern Washington in 1995, and he had so much trouble with his old combines that he ended up buying a 1440 (or maybe 1420?), and it was a few years old then, I think. I think he's still using it.

We got a coat, hat and belt buckle for buying one of the first ones made. If my memory is right I think it was called the 300 club.
First 1440 bought new 1978. Would not smoke a bit. IH was being careful. Had just a few bugs to work out.
Second 1440 bought new 1981. That would smoke a light haze. You could tell IH upped the HP. Ran that one many years. Mark
