OT/ Light Bulb GREASE

Have lights under the eves of my house on a timer seems like when they burn out..30 wat flood lights,, they are the DEVIL to unscrew! Is there any sort of electrical grease ect thet would help? Thanks! Charles

Yes..called Dielectric grease....hardware store...Home Depot...maybe Walmart.

You only want the dielectric grease, like DC-4 or what is used with high voltage ignition wires. You don't want metallic grease like the aluminum conductor grease or the antiseeze grease, they can contaminate the insulation and short out the socket or the lamp.

Definently Dielectric grease. If purchased at NAPA a small tube will cost as much as a large one at Wal-Mart. I have used this on Marine engines, snowmobiles, trucks & tractors. Anything subject to corrosion carrying electricity. The quality seems the same.

there is an electrical grease made just for that, Hardware store should have it. Out poultry house has 130+ screw in lights and we use it on every one. When I bought the place alot of the lights would ruin the socket trying to get out.

I use dielectric grease on everything. bulbs, headlight plugs, both ends of plug wires. Anything outside, just gob it on to keep the water away. Big tube is cheap at walmart.
