30.5 32 tires on tractor

Well the tires on my tractor have little tread left. I have one good 30.5 32 used that is sound and has good tread. I have another that was taken off a combine because the side wall satrted to split. Have any of you guys booted the side wall of such a big tire with any success? How would you fix the thing? I am going to tube them both and they are newer tubeless tires but my tubes in my slicks are still good.

A place not far from me wants 700 for a used tire.....new they are 1300-1800. UNREAL.

Geez, that's an awful big tire and I'm assuming an awful heavy tractor to be trying to boot. I've got one of those Gempler complete liners in a 12x38 on the tractor I use everyday on the feedcart right here in the yard, and even that looks pretty pathetic and kinda scarry.

I bought a combine this year with brand new Firestone 30.5LR32's. Seller told me they were $5000 installed. Back in May he had the old ones- one with a break. I looked into modern view but found no location for you. If you have any interest in coming to central NY I could possibly get hold of him.

I've got a similar problem, one Gdyr dynatorque tire is good and the other has several side wall splits, one which is 1/4 in deep. Had a chance to buy a matching good one for $400 last January and put it off until the weather was better; ie, March, and it sold the week before I called to take it. If the $700 tire matches and has good tread, I would buy it. Wouldn't go the boot route.

no So KS....too far. I will keep looking. Tires that high$ just makes you wanna quit. How can you keep going like this as a small farmer? Even the full time job only covers so much.

I have a set of 30.5x32 on my tractor and also one with a sidewall split--to the cord.

Am told it can be vulcanized for 2-300 dollars but not sure it's safe as is or vulcanized.

Wouldn't cord damage be required for this tire to be unsafe in road gear? A blow-out when working at 5 mile per hour doesn't worry me in terms of safety but 15-20 mph does !

Bought these tire knowing about the split but thought it was not as deep as it is. Knew the price for this size of tire when new was very expensive.

Poor judgement on my part and lack of due diligence.

I should be at the local farm tire dealer in the morning- thought they had a couple of those around. If so, I'll let you know. I'm in central IL.

Vulcanized tires have a big boot glued into the inside to make up for the cords that are damaged. A reputable tire shop would warrenty their work and I wouldn't worry about using one on a tractor. Now a combine or grain cart would scare me.
