I WILL HAVE THE PUMP IN MY HANDS TOMMORROW. ANY INFO GREATLY APPRICIATED, THANK YOU. DOUG

I am gonna guess there are timing marks on the drive gear of the pump as well as somewhere on the drive gear housing, usually under a small cover. You have to line up the correct timing mark on the engine dampner pulley with the mark or pointer that should be on the front engine cover somewhere. Number one piston has to be in TDC as it is possible to have the engine timing off 360 degrees. Once that is done then turn pump drive gear until it looks like it will line up with mark. Install pump and check if it lines up or is close enough to line up by rocking the pump a bit. If so should be good to go, if not may need to pull back out and turn a tooth or three until it all goes correctly. This is the procedure for Case engines and I am going all off memory and common sense... which may not be a good thing! Good luck!

Seems both JMS and paul have or have had F2s; maybe they'll check in or.........post on the combine board.

Get on the combine forum. AllenNE can take those things apart and put them together in his sleep. As can many others.

You have come to the right site. I would think that other than timing, like any other diesel, you would need to bleed the air out of the lines.

Good luck, Gene

that engine ues a roshmaster pump. take of side plate held on by two screws from both pumps the new one is probly in time all ready trun engine over intell the markes to lines line up on pump on engine. you well need to remove injuction lines and any other thing in the way of pulling the pump off drive shaft. if you look down in the new pump you wll see a mark that is to one side of where the pump drive shaft ingages there is also a mark on the drive shaft thoes two mark line up also if you cant find the marks on the old pump looking through the side window. the drive shaft well only fit one way, you should replace the two unbrella seals on drive shaft you should have got new ones with the pump. thy can be a pain gettng first one in make sure you dont roll it back putting on new pump. what ever you do dont take of the front plate and remove the gear or you well get it out of time and then you well have fun retiming.

Neiborhood mechanic did my F2 3 years ago - Engines are not my strong suit. :) Can't be too hard, he did it in my shed with about 4 tools. Just takes the knowledge. Like most things.
