What is a Chip Foose big buck? JD has a add in Hoards Dairyman, "get big bucks off a new tractor, and enter to win a Chip Foose-customized big buck 4020 tractor" Anyone know what thats all about? All the pic shows is a 4020 w/ a canopy in the dark with the lights on.

suppose it has some Foose rims on it? Think of the blank he would have had to start with! bet that would take some time on the CNC

Are they going to do this to that tractor? Are they crazy? It's all original! It does have a dent in the hood though.

If you'll watch the videos in the link, you'll notice that the tractor delivered to Foose is NOT the "last 4020". There was no cab, the "4020 DIESEL" decal was rear engine side panel instead of the front, and the tires are different. The "DEERE" guy didn't say they were customizing the 4020 he was showing (the last one), but "a 4020". It'll be interesting to see the customized version. Mike

What a shame! I can see it now, he will have some 55" billet aluminum rims made for the rear and some 24" or so fronts. And try to get rear tires with about a 4" sidewall, remove all the nameplates and John Deere markings. You will probably be hard pressed to know it's a 4020 at all. Foose has destroyed soooooo many nice original rust free muscle cars for the praise and sale to the yuppie crowd. If you won this thing it's value for tax purposes will most likely be north of $100,000. Just my take on it. To each his own.

Chip Foose has made several million dollars doing what a lot of people wish they could do for an income. If he's happy and making money, what's wrong with that? At least he treats his employees better than Boyd Coddington ever did. Dave

He'll get some 15.5 x 38's- that's about as low of a profile you'll find in a tire around that size. Then he'll mount them on some aluminum pulling rims that will be custom machined and get some aluminum rims on the front too.

If he's smart, he'll save all the parts and sell them, and use aftermarket sheet metal for the custom fab.

Not a deere fan myself, but the one they got did look pretty nice...

Exactly! Chip Foose is making money the old American way, he's got a gimmick of sorts and is using his talent and the talents of his help to operate a profit making enterprise.....Good for him! With the leadership this country has...or rather the lack of it, and what it's doing with OUR money, we all have much more serious thngs to be concerned about than what Chip Foose does with one 4020 John Deere tractor!

Just saw a new webisode placed on the MachineFinder YouTube channel (link below) Looks like they are showing some information on the 4020. Would like to see some more info on the selection process as well.
