All you who whine about posts should just read what you want. Scroll down this forum and 90% of the crap isn"t related to tractors-farms or anything related. I bet the first threads you read will be the O/T ones.

The O/T means off topic which posts about non tractor related subjects are. Odd joke is ok for the piece of mind thou.

I second that one . If a topic offends someone, don"t read it , But don"t poof it. Someone else might find it helpful or interesting. Doyle
 
That's the problem - so many messages are no longer about tractors at all - that a lot of good folk just don't bother to come here any more. Like you say, 90% is nonesense.

Why bother sitfing through all that to look for worthwhile posts?

People just leave.

Then we lose this resource that used to be full of worthwhile info; and it becomes just another coffee-shop bs chat forum of little value.

There are many dozens of such forums out on the net - if that's the drivel you wish to follow, join one of them.

Why clutter up a good forum with such politics, color wars, and other nonsense?

BUMMER here we go again, can't even rant or rave about some silly post.

One thing I have noticed is the O/T get more replies than the tractor questions.

Well,I know its called yesterdays tractor, but I dont mind the off topic stuff asked on here. Maybe people want to ask a fellow farmer a question, weather its about cows, grain hay trucks, hot tubs, hunting, TRACTORS or personal problems,maybe they feel more comfortable asking someone like themselfs! Ya there is other sites, buy theres a good group of people on this form. Like some else said, if you dont like the topic dont read it. JayinNY

Exactly, and all you who want to have political flame wars should find a political discussion forum instead of trying to change this into one. If you've ever tried to follow an unmoderated forum like usenet you will know that moderation is essential.

Most OT posts slide through with a few friendly responses and don't get deleted. As soon as it turns into politics and personal attacks it's going to be deleted.
 
Geez and it's nowhere near spring yet. What are some of you guys gonna do when the cabin fever really starts to set in? Are you new here?! things aren't even getting started yet as far as rude posts and WAY off topic discussions.
 
I don't usually get into these, but this time I will add my gripe. So many and so much that when I come back 4 or 5 hours later to see what I am talking with or watching that I have to go 2 or 3 pages down to find it. Next day its so far out of date I give up on it. Isn't there some way to get the volume to some other place?
As for the "poofs" its not what you say as much as how you say it.
 
Yes, there's some whining and nasty remarks, but we all have a soft spot too. We still have the ability to get past our selfish agressions to reach out those who are asking for prayers for their family or themselves. It keeps me coming back. Jim
 
Well I'll just tell you That you just said something that to most here will agree is totally out of line.

When things are "going good" for them they take time to pray for others as well for guidance to show others the way.

Did you ever even think to post a good word in the last prayer calling ?"Won't post for awhile ??

You claim to be religious and still have evil ways to show otherwise

You try to put an a "you're perfect" attitude and cant even understand why , when none of us are perfect.

Like John T says "Stop Global Whining". Course he says he's an old fart but I'm just a couple of "toots" behind him!
Nice to find a website that you can talk about TRACTORS and whatever is on your mind. I've met and made a lot of "friends" on here.
