Seems like a lot to pay per month,
Of course it depends on what they pay for drugs and what you need every month for meds.,

I'm dumping them to i e-mailed them and told them why maybe if all us old duffers on here let them know we would no longer renew our memberships they would wake up..

I am Dumping American Republic to go to AARP
I am Saving 80 to 100 dollars a month.
Don't let politics get in the way of your common sense.

You've got me thinking that I'd better start looking around. I can get Medicare but don't use it. Had better coverage from my wife's plan until she lost her job near a year ago.

At present, my wife and I are paying $750 per month out-of-pocket with large co-pays for ourselves and another $150 for our five-year-old kid. Problem is I can get Medicare and she can't (she's a bit young).

I was using AARP for my mom's supplemental until last year. I got fed up with AARP's scare tactics in efforts to support external_link's health plan proposal. She turned 95 years old and now has Medicade and Medicare, so the AARP plan is no longer an issue for her.

How much are you paying in total, per month, with Medicare and supplemental?

I have been with Mutual of Omaha from the medicare beginning for me-$135 per month. My wife just got on in Sept.,09,mine now 80.00 per month,hers-70.00 per month. Ghanged agents, same Mutual of Omaha and plan F for both of us.

I'm Lucky I'm on the same plan as Congress is. I pay $348 a month for everything including Dental and because I'm poor (under $21K) I don't have to pay the Co-pay.

Do what you have to, but I will NOt support AARP any longer regardless of the cost. Its a matter of principle to me.Commonn sense be damned.

When I first signed up for Medicare, I joined the Part C Humana Advantage plan at $0 cost per month plus the Medicare part B which costs $96 per month. Last year the Humana part went up to $18. This year they wanted $65 and I think that part of that increase is in anticipation of the Advantage Plan cuts which they want to make to help pay for the new health care. I switched to my local hospital which offers Senior Preferred Advantage Plan which looks somewhat better than Humana. I took the $34 per month plan plus still pay the $96 Medicare Part B. They also offer a $113 plan with lower co-pays. My wife will sign up in March and then with both of us taking the lower cost plans we will have almost $2000 a year in cost savings that we can use for the higher co-pays in case something should happen.
I tell you, looking at all of the plans etc is mind boggling.

WE p[ay 350 a month(for two of us) for AARP United Health Care supplement to medicare. I have had that for 12 years and I have never had a copay or a payment at all. I have received 2 knee replacements and 2 shoulder replacements, gall bladder removal, 2 cataracts removed, 2 carpel tunnel ops on right hand, Prostate cancer with 42 radiation treatment and now receiving treatment for bleeding caused by the radiation, my wife has had gall bladder removed , appendix removed, cancer, full hysterectomy and followup every 3 months and we have yet to pay a dime except for prescriptions. I am well satisfied. However, BHO is about to screw it all up and cut medicare. Henry

Have Mutual of Omaha supplement plan G.

I agree about AARP.Just a giant profit machine, while posing as charitable organization designed only to help seniors.

Do you know what you pay in total per month? That is, what is the separate charge for the Medicare part? I haven't checked in few years. I think last I looked it was somewhere around $150 per month?

I just check price fot Colorado..
plan G Mutual of Omaha..186.26 This is from internet and may not be for next year, which would go up.
AARP plan G..161.00 for 2010.
Politic is great in its place, but not for me when it comes to paying bills.
Now there might be group plans with other rates but they do not apply to me.

None yet...I'have to sign up in March and I'm afraid of the cost..covered with the wife BUT we're already at 12,000 a year out of pocket...soooo I sure hope it doesn't get any worse....all we owe is for the house.....sure have seen all my plans for retirement...evaporate...Charles
