dry fert spreader

Hello coop droped off a dry fert spreader yesterday,and I went to use it this morning and I could noy find a ground speed.It"s a willmar 500 with a 540 pto. please help coop is closed.

een awhile since I used that 500, but IIRC, the 'belt' that feeds the fertilizer to the rear slingers is driven by the tire/wheel & that makes ground speed irrelevant. Faster you travel, the more it feeds.
 
What JMOR said, plus, doublecheck that the chain is on the right sprocket- there is a high and low range. Many fert is 65 lbs per cubic foot density- read the right line for setting.
 
feeder belt is ground driven, when you get to the field you have to engage the drive, it is located on the left side at the rear wheel. pull the safty pin , raise the levler to drop the drive chain on the drive sprocket inside of the wheel. put the levler on the top pin and install the safty(hair) pin. good to go.
