Farmall c serial #

Is there a way to figure out the serial # of a farmall c without the tag? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

look on the right side of the engine. Upper corner towards the front. Serial # is stamped in the block there. Its going to be hard to read but its there. There is other places just not sure at the moment. I'm going to talk to a friend tomorrow and i'll ask him. Hope this helps.

The engine number will be on a flat milled spot under #1 plug. It will be the only serial # on it, but I'm pretty sure As were dipping into the same engine run, and the numbers might be off of the true serial. Letters on the casting dates will be available to get the approximate year. But the serial # on the engine is unique to that engine at least. (though it might not be the original engine)

Thanks for the reply. I saw that number and figured that what is was. The only problem is that number is FCM 81487 which puts it past regular production numbers.

As stated in my reply above, the blocks were taken from production for A Farmalls (and possibly other applications) and are probably not sequential if it were stock. The block could be from a cross section of tractors and equipment or Replacement from factory. There are no records of serial numbers from dealers in almost all cases. And if you had an original bill of sale it still might not have the number! Jim
