Engine Paint, Persian Orange 1

Need to paint an old A/C tractor engine. Can anyone guide me on what type paint to use? I will not paint the manifold or exhaust orange, but all else is fair game. How would a good quality spray enamel do?

I would use acrylic enamel or PPG's Omni Single Stage. I used the Omni on this tiller. Hal

If you want something durable go with Urethane enamel from the industrial line up of paints.
I just bought some for my Allis B. the 60080 code is the correct one for the early units. My paint guy crossed the ppg code right into Sherwin Williams brand (1777 I think) and it looks right. Urethane is the most durable, but more expensive.

i'm not sure of the correct term for paint type...i've always used tractor enamel and its held up well on engine and intake...exhaust is another story.
use hardener if you want paint to stay shiny and by all means wear a respirator...that stuff will stick to everything inside ya.
