Mounting a radial on a regular rim

I just bought a 18.4x34 BF Goodrich Power Radial 80 tractor tire on eBay. It is a new, never mounted tire. Can I mount it on a IH 650 (1958) rim, in good condition, without a tube? I understand I will have to install a tire stem in the stem hole. Will this work if I use some kind of bead sealant or am I totally out to lunch on this? eBay item 280428353160
BF Goodrich Power Radial 80 tractor tire. Link may not work

As long as the rim is good and clean, and you use the tire sealent, I can't see why it won't work for you, with out the tire tube . Bruce

Sealant will be needed, and getting the bead to expand might not be too hard if the tire is oversized for the rim a bit. Best of luck. Jim

It will depend on the rim. Most of the older rims where not made for tube-less tires and do not work well because of that. Some even have rivets holder them together and if so they will leak. Tube type and tube less rims are made different and that can cause you problems

It will definitely help if you can get the tire warm, by your heat source in a shop or anywhere else that's warmer than what it is around most of our places now... this will help the beat to expand easier and seat on the rim along with help from the sealant...

If it's a welded wheel rather than a riveted wheel, I don't see a problem.
I'd suggest blasting/wire wheeling at least the bead area of the wheel down to abre metal, then paint it so you have a good sealing surface first tho. Get a good heavy duty valve stem that has the removable outer body.
Apply bead sealer to the valve and the tire as you install... then blow it on with ether or a Bead Chetah if necessary. Be especially carefull if you use ether.
I'm very skeptical if you're get an 18.4R34 blown without one or the other.
